Compared to Nokia, Samsung or LG, Sony Ericsson is the only Big Five player that doesn’t have iPhone like models. The Xperia X1, even though has touch screen, it’s only Windows Mobile device like many others. But look at this cool concept of full touch screen phone from Sony Ericsson. The concept design in the video has a similar machinism as the Nokia N95. When you move the slider down it will give you a list of multimedia control buttons. In the other hand, when you move it up you will get the access to the camera.

Check this out! Xperia X1 (the successor of famous P-series) from Sony Ericsson is predicted coming in November and brought by UK’s operator, Three (3) aka Hutchison in Asia. With affordable price for 30 pounds per month installment, it has the specifications as it follows: horizontally sliding form factor, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, HSDPA, touchscreen, and Wifi. Isn’t that a great phone pal?

Considering how people are attracted to the XPERIA X1, I already predicted that the clone/imitation of the phone will come immediately. You can see the clone in the picture above. This X1 clone has pretty decent specifications and has a pretty similar design with the X1 (even though it’s a bit uglier than the original one).
The fake X1 sports the full QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera, 3-inch touchscreen that can display 16 million colors, and a built-in TV tuner. Too bad it’s a rip-off and doesn’t run Windows Mobile but some Chinese mobile operating system. And no, we don’t recommend getting one of these…

There has been a rumor that buzzes over the internet saying that Sony Ericsson will buy the HTC. This rumor surprised many people, as well as me. Could it be? What direction the benefit will take? So, the event that triggered the rumor was like this:
Swedish publication Elektroniktidningen was about to held a meeting with HTC, but the meeting was delayed due to talks of some sort of merger with Sony Ericsson. Everyone panicked: Could HTC be bought by Sony Ericsson? They’ve already worked together on the Xperia X1, so it could be possible, right?

Apparently the Swedish-Japanese handset manufacturer is continually making their upcoming Windows Mobile Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 to be more and more powerful before the official launch. The X1 will double their RAM and Flash memory capacity. So instead of the 128MB of RAM and 256MB of Flash memory, the X1 will have a 256MB of RAM and 512MB of Flash memory. We can tell you this information based on the “White Paper” of the device. With this kind of upgrade, the X1 with its 528 MHz CPU will be operating much faster…

Up until now, we all agree that the most discussed and awaited phone from the Sony Ericsson is the recently announced XPERIA branded smartphone Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. The X1 comes with an un-doubtful image as the high-end smartphone and provide almost everything we are looking for in a phone.
So now we have a new class of the Sony Ericsson phones. It’s the XPERIA class. Sony Ericsson promises that all XPERIA branded handsets will be high-end smartphones and the X1 is only the beginning.

MobileBurn’s Michael Oryl got the chance to play around with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 at the CTIA Wireless 2008 show, Las Vegas. One of the big questions around the X1 has been “what do the panels do?” Well, now we know. They provide quick access to both apps and different home screens, as you can see in the video demo below.
Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X1 attended the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and Mobile Asia in New Delhi. But one thing was different in Mobile Asia - the X1 in a silver, brushed-metal surface. Even the official pictures show only the black X1. So from where did the silver version come? Is it just a prototype or does Sony Ericsson intend to launch in various hues?
