Sony Ericsson has announced the new variant of its smartphone called Aspen but hasn’t announced the launch plan. The surprising news about Aspen is that it is the first Sony Ericsson’s Windows Mobile 6.5.3 smartphone to be unearthed and perhaps the last one before Sony Ericsson moves to the higher level of Windows Phone 7 series. This GreenHeart phone packs quad-band GSM/EDGE with HSPA 900/2100 or 850/900/2100 radios.

You the users of WinMo should be familiar with Swype. This new input method has been popular and you can see it in Samsung Omnia II. With Swype you will use swiping motion than the traditional method with hunting and pecking. So you will run your fingers over your keyboard while Swype predicts your desired words.

Currently the Swype developer works for other version, Swype for Android. According to their plan, Swype for Android will be integrated into coming Android devices. Of course they will work together with the carriers as well as device manufacturers.

The Windows Mobile had ever been in the top of the game while WinMo Dell Axim as well as Palm Tungsten T and Palm Treo released its WinMo Treo 700WX. But these days WinMo seems to get some popular rivals such as Android or iPhone OS. How is the future for Windows Mobile?

According to head of Microsoft’s mobility division in United Kingdom, Phil Moore, Windows Mobile 7 will be delayed till the end of 2010. This decision may not be the good choice considering the rivals of WinMo will release their updates earlier.

An anonymous source says that above picture is the Sony Ericsson X2 prototype. The device is also called as Vulcan codename but is better known as X2. This successor of Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 is not yet released this time, but it can be next few years, months, weeks or even days.

Sony Ericsson developer portal had released the latest beta version of the Panels SDK, (version 1.0.5.), in just a few days ago. You are now allowed to access X1 internal hardware graphics acceleration. Open GL ES support is included in the new beta version along with the applications for Windows Mobile 6.1 for Xperia X1 phone.

Using this Sony Ericsson Beta SDK for Windows Mobile® 6.1, you can develop and test Xperia™ Native Panels, Xperia Web (HTML) Panels, Xperia Panels. This Panels SDK contains of Xperia X1 Emulator, Microsoft Visual Studio Templates, Developers’ Guidelines, API Reference, Tutorials and Sample Code.
