
The next gen of WiFi seems to come. It is WiGig. Wireless Gigabit Alliance and Wi-Fi Alliance are working on this high-speed consumer WiFi, WiGig. This future WiFi run on 60 GHz spectrum that will be able to reach speed up to 7 gigabits per second.
It is predicted the improved Wi-Fi range, backwards compatibility and connection stability will work on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz channels (802.11 g/n). The short-range and fast transfers within a local network will use the 60 GHz band.
