This is very cool application you must install on your UIQ phone. V.R.C.C. (Video Remote Computer Camera) is a freeware system that enables your UIQ smartphone to be used as a webcam and lets you control the phone from the PC, wherever you are.
V.R.C.C is comprised of two applications, one for the phone and one for the PC that communicate using a protocol over a variety of data transmission methods like WiFi, Bluetooth, or Internet. Here the complete features:
Boring with current UIQ interface? Kevin over Cellphonesails just found some nice pictures from UIQ Official Web stated some concept of UIQ UI. As you can see, The pics are very cool and well iPhone-ish kind of thing.
Speed is relative, but if you think your UIQ3 phone is too slow, here a great tips to speed up your smartphone. This method was discovered by Darkus from smart-se.ru:
First, make some general tests using your contacts and messaging apps. Scroll, create new, search by letter, insert, etc. Remember the speed of it!
Install pips_uiq_1_2_ss.sis
Install stdioserver_uiq_1_0.sis
Reboot. If necessary, reboot again.
Now…repeat the tests you made in 1
Watch how both contacts and messaging, the weak links of UIQ3 devices, are now working faster!
Mobile-review has compared the Sony Ericsson W960 Walkman and the Nokia N81 XpressMusic based on their important features. It is really interesting comparison and you should see it.
Based on the criteria that mobile-review has, the Nokia N81 has earned more points than the Sony Ericsson W960. To be precise, there were eight “plus” of the N81 that the W960 doesn’t have and most of which are scores on the most vital part. The W960 only won in the player’s abilities and the data transfer speeds criteria. You can see the comparison yourself under. The W960i is a different creature – no doubt, it is an interesting product, it is handy in use, but… only as long as you don’t face it off against its closest rival.
Sory for late post about this news. USEB has posted news about new firmwares for W960, the K850 and W910. These phones have just received an update to fix some of the problems and bugs in the firmwares. While we have not noticed many bugs in W960, the K850 and W910 does indeed pack quite a few, especially because they were among the first A200 offerings. Wituh new K850i firmware, it’s much faster in general, no more lagging in Media, new effects and much faster working in Media, 3D games in particular run much more smoothly now. The camera has been much improved as well, and same goes for video recordings. Another fine new feature is that you can set the phone to vibrate when using the touch sensitive buttons - this works quite well.
Now for some technical stuff. The K850 firmware is called R1EA031, and is not a major release. The W910 firmware is called R1EA030, and has pretty much the same improvements as with the K850. The W960 firmware CDA is called R6G02.
Jens Greve, Head of Sony Ericsson Developer World, shares his thoughts on the past and his excitement about 2007 review. As we all know, Sony Ericsson obtained remarkable 100 million units sold in 2007. Here few highlights from 2007 from a Sony Ericsson Developer World perspective:
Chinese market is fantastic
Java Platform 8 (JP-8) and Z750 as the first phone for supporting Mobile Services Architecture (MSA)
Stronger UIQ 3 platform, New UIQ 3 based phone, P1 and W960
Theme Creator in Linux based OS and support to Adobe Flash Lite
Michell Bak of SE Blog has posted a long and great review about the newest SE phones, W960. SE W960 is probably one of the best phones from Sony Ericsson - also when it comes to build quality. It feels extremely sturdy and the materials used are nice. The back is rubberised, which gives you a good grip of the phone. The front is glossy and looks good, but needs a good clean a few times a day. The stylus, however, isn’t that great and feels a bit cheap. It’s good for the touch screen, though, because soft plastic has been used in the end.
We know that Sony Ericsson W960i has released in some countries. Unfortunately not in my country or many others. If you interested with this great phone, at least you can watch great walk through of the Sony Ericsson W960’s Walkman 3.0 Touch music player from Michel Bak of SE Blog. Here the video:
Another great phone finally goes public. The Sony Ericsson w960 has finally been released in sweden, at least at the phonehouse stores for a price at 6000 swedish kr. Lucky people from dailymobile got the phone and show off it for you
Here are some unboxing pictures of sony ericssons latest walkman phone, W960.
