Finally another new update for Sony Ericsson Satio has came. This new update brings the capability of WVGA (864 x 480 pixels) video recording to the currently available VGA capabilities. Of course, some other stuffs are also available like direct Facebook and YouTube uploads.

Another stuffs are DLNA support, threaded messaging as well as various UI improvements. So far there is no information Satio will get the Vivaz’s homescreen.

According to the Sony Ericsson official blog, this Satio update will be released as soon as possible and it can be in this weekend. The first availability is region-specific and it will be available for wider consumers in the next week.

Some days ago, Sony Ericsson Satio had got the issue of software glitch. Due to this reason, the smartphone had been pulled from UK retailers. A small effect also had been occurred to Aino and the company had promised to release the software fix in future.

So it seems Sony Ericsson has made effort to solve this issue. Yesterday the company had released the firmware fix for Satio. So, the 12 Mpx smartphone should be available for sale again in the retailers in the near future.

Further more, the company confirmed that the Satio problem could not be fixed through OTA so the users must get the new firmware.

While previously Sony Ericsson had pulled the Satio in two major retailers in United Kingdom because of the software glitch, now some other problem has been arisen. A few days later, the Satio sales were halted. This decision is made after the customer complaints regarding the handset’s touchscreen. The complaint is keep growing so far.

Yes, it seems that Satio has been pulled from flagship store in UK, Carphone Warehouse. The phone has been pulled for a reason of software issues. We know that this problem is quite familiar on Sony Ericsson devices.

However, the silver color of Satio is still available on the market. If you are looking for the black color Satio, it is not available.

Further more, there is no detail information whether the Satio in other retailers in UK or worldwide will get the same recall.

We know that Satio is popular with its 12 Mpx camera. Satio also offers the smartphone versatility. Satio has competitor namely Samsung Pixon12. Both offer the 12 Mpx camera. According to gsmarema.com the Pixon’s 12Mpx camera looks better than Satio, but Satio has the better value as a smartphone that offers more versatility and flexibility.

The AMOLED display looks good indoor, but the user wants to get the good display when outdoor too. Pixon12 has the nice image editor but unfortunately it contains the similar effects that may make you confuse. In other side Satio offers the basic editor without complexity.

In term of image quality Pixon looks good. As for Satio, it has good looking camera and gallery interface, decent BestPic mode, active lens cover, video recording and others.
