Several images have appeared telling a coming Android phone from the company Alcatel. The name is OT-980. This Alcatel smartphone runs Android OS v1.6, features WiFi, A-GPS, 3G, 600 MHz processor, 192 MB of RAM, and a 2 Mpx snapper.
There is a compass, accelerometer, microUSB plug, microSD memory card slot and a 1150 mAh battery as the hightlighted features left. The Alcatel OT-980 will be in the entry-level line up that comes with the price point even cheaper than HTC Tattoo. So we feel it impressive considering all those specs are presented.
OT-980’s QVGA touchscreen seems to be very responsive. Its on-screen keyboard will be a good idea for you who dont want to be bothered by the sliding real keyboard. (more…)
What can we say, the real iPhone killer from Sony Ericsson? They just announced the Idou at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona. As you can see at the photos, Idou is an iPhone like handset with a 12.1 megapixel camera, a 3.5? 16:9 touchscreen, and - get this - a yet-to-be-finished version of Symbian. Note that Idou is a concept name for this phone and not the final name under which the product will actually be marketed to the public. An impressive 12 megapixel camera/Xenon flash combo is probably going to be the selling point here regardless, I suppose they’ve said all they need to. Idou won’t show up until sometime in the second half of this year.

PeterKay over at Esato just posted a SE promo flyer showing an interesting Sony Ericsson phone with unique design. The disign is looks fresh and different from other SE phones.
Reading the text on the flyer, it’s obvious that Reese is a device targeted at young mobile users:
“The new Reese from Sony Ericsson. A unique swivel design reveals a QWERTY keypad below the large portrait screen which allows you to view several messages of any kind in high definition. It also comes with one-click access to your favourite networking sites. So now it’s never been easier to keep up with your mates.”
The phone has unique design because when the QWERTY keyboard is unveiled, the display stays in a vertical position – I don’t think I’ve seen this in any other mobile phone until now.

Japanese always get the best phone first. This time Sony Ericssonis rumored to launch two great phones in Japan. While the phone have no name yet, there are few specifications about these phone. One of them is a Cyber-shot phone and the other is a Walkman phone.
The Cyber-shot phone comes with a 3.3-inch high-resolution OLED display at 800 x 480 pixels. The camera resolution is at 8 megapixels, and it features auto focus as well. As you can see the pictures, the design is look very similar with Xperia X1, but in slider form. Unfortunately it doesn’t seem to have either a xenon flash nor optical zoom. It’ll come in three colour variants; Black, Magenta, and Olive & Gold.

Many 8MP camera phones now available on the market. But to lead the market you need bigger resolution to make people say “Wow”. News reaches of a new Sony Ericsson CyberShot phone being worked on for 2009. Currently codenamed the Kokura, it will apparently feature a whopping 12 megapixel camera, come complete with a touchscreen and iPhone-like interface, and will be based on the TI3240 chipset with the Symbian OS version 9.4 and S60 interface.

Yao, another new walkman phone from Sony Ericsson. This is an entry Walkman slider with good design. Yao could be W305, because it has same specifications as F305: screen 176×220, camera 2.0-Mp, etc. The design is also very similar with F305. Yao has a high gloss front finish (as the well copied from S302). This baby will be available from March, 2009.
It seems Sony Ericsson did not stop playing with its Cybershot brand. After delivering a camera phone with 8 megapixel resolution through the C905, They now developed 12 megapixel cameraphone with code name “Kotaku”. According to the plan, the phone will have a touch screen interface and will have design similar to Nokia Tube.
This phone will use S60 interface with Symbian OS 9.4 version. This phone will also be equipped with 3.5mm headphone jack, mini-USB socket for better connectivity. In addition, It will also support Bluetooth A2DP, Memory Stick format, and also microSD slot. However, no further info from Sony Ericsson about the price, release date and full specification.
I have posted about this K750i successor before. Cellphonesail has posted this blurry photos of 5mp candybar (codenamed “Kate”). Basically this is a C902 but with newer software in the form of Java 8.4 like the C905 and G705. Xenon flash is included along with QuadBand GSM and UMTS/HSDPA. No GPS, no frontal camera, but it does have a button to switch from still, video, and gallery in the camera app. Camera also has the Smile shutter feature. Another interesting rumors, folk over Semcblog has post a blurred picture of next SE phone with code name: Hicaru. As you can see the photo, it seems Hicaru will have slider thumboard. Hicaru probably will be positioned as the successor of the old P1i, SE smartphone based on UIQ interface.
