When it is officially announced, you may call it as the crossbreeding device. Yes, it is reported by trusted tipster that Sony Ericsson develops a PSP phone. again, the form itself is a cross between The Samsung Captivate and PSP Go.

This device may has a slide-out controller like we are used to in landscape slider phones along with a “long touch pad” rather than the joystick just like on PSP. The other rumors is its specs. It may be armed with  3.7- or 4.1-inch screen, at least WVGA resolution (800×480), a non-final 5MP camera, and a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU. What about the operating system? The rumor is also saying that it will run Google’s Android 3.0 Gingerbread. Some quality games such as Modern Warfare (aka Call of Duty) and God of War franchises are ready to be played in this device as Google supports its game options availability on Android Market.

At previous, we have known the issue of in-fighting in Sony Ericsson joint venture about PSP Phone which Sony had refused to give PSP Phone licence to Sony Ericsson. Now Sony is working on the next plan of them, cellphone game gear hybrid. This future PlayStation smartphone of Sony may will be competitor for iPod and iPhone of Apple as the new choice outside the traditional gaming such as Nintendo’s DS and Sony’s PlayStation Portable.

We are still not sure which one Sony Ericsson will use, within the three: Windows Mobile, Google Android and Symbian platform. There are also some rumors about the in-fighting between companies. For several months, the rumors of Sony Ericsson Playstation phone have spread. We are curious whether those rumors will come true… So let us talk about this further…

According to Hideki Komiyama as CEO of Sony Ericsson, there is a possibility for Sony Ericsson to launch Playstation phone in future. That statement is said by Komiyama to Financial Times. So after passing some months, the rumors still left us a big question. So far, both Sony Ericsson and Sony do not announce their plans regarding Playstation phone.

Kaz Hirai that previously is PlayStation boss, had been promoted to be the Sony Network Products and Services division’s head in a reshuffle. Previously, he had been assigned for PlayStation Network service platform expansion. So this way, he will be in different field, the Walkman brand, Vaio devices and the new mobile products instead of PlayStation.

Further more, Sony also had said that new mobile product will be launched. Is that a PSP phone? Or it can be the new PSP2. Maybe Sony wants to produce its own PSP phone as Sony Ericsson had been blocked to develop such the phone.

Lastly, whether it is possible that PlayStation Network connected up by Sony gadget? Take for instance, perhaps for downloading video rather just for gaming? We wait for the product as Sir Howard Stringer as Sony SEO had formed Sony United that probably produces the PSP phone.

Well, you might’ve read in my previous post about the PSP phone. It said that the PSP phone will come under Sony (without Ericsson) umbrella. Here’s an update of that rumor. It seems that according to the picture below Ericsson will be a part of that PSP phone and this leaked picture also reveals the specifications of that phone. It’s gonna be something really interesting if the rumor is true. Two-in-one device is not something new, but it’s become special since those two devices are PSP and phone. This is going to be a revolutionary step for mobile gaming.

Well thanks to Sony, by announcing their Sony Ericsson F305 (mobile-gaming cellphone without any PSP brand name) in Communic Asia 2008 last week, a rumor (big one) has emerged that this Japanese seems trying to avoid its PlayStation brand name for their joint-venture with Swedish, Sony Ericsson. A trusted source, via Marketing Week, said that Sony won’t give this brand to SE since both of this company had experiencing a “frosty” relationship.
