USEB has posted news about new firmwares for W960, the K850 and W910. These phones have just received an update to fix some of the problems and bugs in the firmwares. While we have not noticed many bugs in W960, the K850 and W910 does indeed pack quite a few, especially because they were among the first A200 offerings. Wituh new K850i firmware, it’s much faster in general, no more lagging in Media, new effects and much faster working in Media, 3D games in particular run much more smoothly now. The camera has been much improved as well, and same goes for video recordings. Another fine new feature is that you can set the phone to vibrate when using the touch sensitive buttons – this works quite well.
Now for some technical stuff. The K850 firmware is called R1EA031, and is not a major release. The W910 firmware is called R1EA030, and has pretty much the same improvements as with the K850. The W960 firmware CDA is called R6G02.

More colors mean more money, and SE know it much. After releasing new colors for Sony Ericsson K770i, now SE K850i will get the same treatment with Quicksilver Black. I have post early info here. Nothing changing in the specs here, just the housing, but we’ll take what we can get when it comes to handsets in the US 3G spectrum. No word on pricing or availability, we’ll just have to wait until when — or if — they announce it.

Code explanation:
As every other animation that goes on a mobile phone this one has Extend Backlight Duration (to 30 seconds) and Full Screen fscommands. onEnterFrame makes sure that the following function will be repeated all the time though the movie has only one frame. The function is to read accelerometer data, in this case only the accX is of interest. The maximum it can react with Earth’s gravity is 990. When shaking the phone it can reach over 2000 but I find 1500 enough to initiate the wallpaper change which happens with simple play function for the “imager”. Imager is a movie clip that changes the picture to next one when it plays. It can be animated whatever way you like. The last 2 lines of the script are for those who want to preview the animation on PC. It unloads the next button if animation is open on the phone; on PC that button is visible and can be used.

Recently SE K850 comes with two version, green and blue colors. Now this is something that you dont see often, a black sony ericsson k850. For the black lovers, the black edition looks way better than the green and blue colors of course
