K850i theme making guide

Moron12 (nickname), Deviantart community member has a great tutorial about K850 theme making. The guide consist of text file and PSD file. So you must have a photoshop program to open it. You will see that the PSD contains the basic principles for the setup of a K850 theme.

This Guide is helpful for all those who use it and I hpe too that it will encourage those theming for K800 and W580 phones to make K850 versions too, as there are on very few differences between the themes overall.

Go to moron12’s page and download the tutorial!

LCARS-Expert from Esato forum just post a great tutorial about how to make auto-rotate function in Flash Lite 2.0. He using K850i as device.

LCARS-Expert explain how to make your Flash animation do the auto rotate function with a very simple script. You can then use this script in any way you wish.

Creating a K850i compatible Flash document
To begin start your Adobe/Macromedia Flash and press CTRL+N to create a new document. Pick “Flash file (ActionScript 2.0)” and press OK.
Set size to 240×320, background is your pick (I’ll use black for this tutorial) and set frame rate to acceptable value (I mostly use 25).
After that (this is very important) click on Settings button and set Version to Flash Lite 2.0.

When you want to view taken image in full screen, all you have to do is rotate the phone - the rest is automatic. But you can do the same when you enter my media ( That place where all your data is stored - music, pictures and video ) - rotate the phone, and display will change. But the coolest things regarding rotation are themes. If you have K850 theme, the wallpaper animation ( picture under operator logo - don’t know how to call it ) will move according to position of the phone - if you rotate it in one direction - the theme will animate in that direction, but if you turn it another way - animation direction will change.

 K850i tips

Smoother video playback
instead of using ‘Auto rotate’ on Media menu ‘Settings’
select either Landscape or Portrait,
using Auto rotate (I know it’s a nice idea but) really seems to makes videos stutter,

first select a video then press centre soft-key ‘View’ then before pressing ‘Play’ press left soft-key ‘Options’ choose landscape, press ‘Play
to choose another video press ‘Back’ then use left or right on D pad,
press centre soft-key to play,
normally the video plays in sync (unless play/pause is used then sync goes completely to fix this either restarted video or choose another)
