The newest NPD report seems not to be a surprise. Android devices have scurried accross US carriers. With their very competitive prices, Android devices have got good sales in the country.

The data comes from self-reported online consumer surveys of NPD, not the corporate sales info that may change their numbers.

The NPD first quarter report of US smartphones shows RIM at 36%, Android at 28% and Apple at 21%. Since June 2009, no new model came from Apple.

As for the carriers, Verizon Wireless and AT&T are on par. This is caused by the strong sales of Droid, Droid Eris, and Blackberry Curve on Verizon. The next place is T-Mobile then Sprint.

Said executive director of industry analysis for NPD, Rubin:

“Recent previews of BlackBerry 6, the recently announced acquisition of Palm by HP, and the pending release of Windows Phone 7 demonstrates the industry’s willingness to make investments to address consumer demand for smartphones and other mobile devices. Carriers continue to offer attractive pricing for devices, but will need to present other data-plan options to attract more customers in the future.”

So all this plus makes Samsung Strive is available for one who love to send many text messages and have the low budget. You can visit AT&T to get the phone.

For those who haven’t noticed yet, these bands is exactly the bands that AT&T used, so it is possible that the U.S. carrier will launch the device this year. Anyway, specs wise, the slider Sony Ericsson T715 has a new UI features that is called “smart desktop”. It also has a 2.2 inch QVGA display, Google Maps, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, stereo FM radio, 3.2MP camera, 90MB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support.

Pretty nice and the design is pretty sexy, and hopefully not so expensive. Anyway, the Sony Ericsson T715 might also comes unlocked via Sony Style shop. Let’s just sit and wait, guys :)

The gap taken by AT&T and Sony Ericsson between the announcement and the real release of the Sony Ericsson Z750a is two months. Some people said that this delaying action isn’t because there’s a problem in supplying or whatever. They believe that it’s related to the timing of the release.

Well as it is the first Sony Ericsson U.S. ready HADPA mobile handset can now be yours for the sum of $49.99 on a 2 year contract with a mail-in rebate. The Sony Ericsson Z750a will be available in a choice of three colors: pink, purple, and grey; each incorporates a 2 megapixel camera, stereo Bluetooth A2DP, HSDPA support, memory stick micro slot, and a 2.2 inch QVGA display.
