What a lost! After reaching a high net income for Q2 2007 (it’s 220 million Euro), somehow the Q2 2008 Sony Ericsson only reaches 6 million Euro or 2,72 % as it’s reported by Sony Ericsson-the Japan-Sweden joint venture. There are 4 main aspects why it happens:

1. Many good competitors.
2. R&D financial in making great products.
3. Company reinstatement.
4. Time and hard work (Open Mobile Platform and Symbian Foundation).

Sony Ericsson Japan prepared for a new multimedia phone SO706i. This stylish Japanese phone is for NTT DoCoMo  and will targeted at the female audience. The SO706i main feature is a 2.8 inch widescreen TFT display with a resolution of 240×427 pixels. This large screen will be used for convenient viewing of Mobile TV, Internet pages, as well as maps of Google Maps. Retail price is about 40000 Japanese yen - equivalent to about $ 380, or 240 euros.

After a while buzzing over the internet, the rumor about the cancel of Paris and BeiBei has finally came true. Following the cancellation of the M60i, both of the phones have similar problems with the M60i. That problem is the large numbers of critics from reviewers and other industry watchers such as mobile-review.com, endgadget.com and Cnet.co.uk. The story doesn’t end there because we are hearing that whilst Paris and the G702 may have been cancelled in Europe, they might still make an appearance in Asia.

And now, Indian government has made a relatively same step with the Japanese government.

According to the agreement between Sony Ericsson and Warner Music International, selected Sony Ericsson phones will be bundled with music and mobile content from Madonna’s HARD CANDY. There are two packages available, one with 5 songs, and one with the full album pre-loaded. Both will feature extra mobile content, such as wallpapers and ringtones.

Power and Associates U.S. Wireless Mobile Phone Evaluation Study(SM), Sony Ericsson holds the first position compared to other wireless mobile phone brands in the U.S. overall customer satisfaction performance. gartner_logo.gifRecently, an analysis from the famous firm Gartner has revealed that there has been a change in the position of five largest cell-phone manufacturers. Apparently the fourth position that was formerly held by Sony Ericsson has shifted to the LG. Therefore the position became like this:

  1. Nokia
  2. Samsung Electronics
  3. Motorola
  4. LG Electronics
  5. Sony Ericsson

Worldwide sales of mobile phones reached 294.3 million units in the first quarter, a 13.6% increase from sales last year.

Finnish mobile phone Goliath Nokia Corp. sold 115.2 million units for a global market share of 39.1% during the quarter, a sharp gain from last year’s 35.5% market share in the same period.
