It seems that Verizon has a good relationship with few numbers of Android phone vendors. And now, some high profile phones from HTC and Motorola are going to the same carrier. First is HTC Droid Incredible then Motorola Droid 2 follows and the Motorola Droid X closed the story of great relationship with beautifully.

However, those Android Based phones must beat each other to proclaim as the best phone from HTC that is going with Verizon. Here, we want to compare two from three HTC phones. They are the Droid Incredible and Droid 2.

Let’s check the full story of them.

Both Droid Incredible and Motorola Droid 2 are having the same screen. They armed themselves with 3.7 inches of AMOLED technology display. However, the different is in the number of colors they can show off. Droid 2 shows it 16.7 millions colors while the opponent  is only supporting 65 k colors. Besides, you don’t need to shade the screen while playing with Droid 2 under the sun. This is the thing that missed on Incredible’s screen. What is about pixel resolution? Measuring up with a 480 x 854 pixels resolution, the DROID 2 offers higher pixel. Nevertheless, Incredible’s screen is still incredible though.

As a newer phone Droid 2 than Incredible, it has some modifications in several places. It was built with better materials and makes it sturdier than the opponent. The most basic different is on the keyboard. The QWERTY keyboard is something lacked in Droid Incredible. This is why Droid Incredible looked skinnier than Droid 2.

The QWERTY keyboard also helps to operate some feature right away. Some cases in using a keyboard is easier than just operating an application from the touchscreen. They both are blessed with a microUSB port, 3.5mm headset jack, dedicated power button, and volume rocker but, we prefer the hardware buttons of the Incredible since they are larger and easier to feel out. Although, the Incredible is totally missing a dedicated shutter key for the camera which the DROID 2 offers to its users.

The differences are also found in the camera. Even though has supported by dual-LED flash, their camera power is totally different. Incredible has armed with 8MP camera while Droid 2 just defenses its pride with acceptable 5 MP camera. For video shooting, they are capable to make the same good video. Both of these phones are support for memory expansion with microSD card. However, we have to admit that inserting the microSD card on Incredible is easier than doing it with Droid 2 since we have to removing the battery before inserting the microSD card.

Now, we will discuss about the software.

Even though both of these phones are blessed with Android operating system, the version of the OS they use are different. Droid 2 is running Android 2.2 and Incredible runs Android 2.1.

The processors of these Android phones are combined beautifully with the OS. They are powered with the same 1GHz processor. Incredible processor is 1GHz Snapdragon processor while the DROID 2 is powered by an equally capable 1GHz TI OMAP CPU. Their processor combining with the OS are running every application fluidly at the same time beautifully.

They also supported application download at the same Android market.

Flash 10.1 is supporting Droid 2 while Flash Lite supports the demonstrating on the desktop of Incredible. Multi-touch is also supporting these two phones. Since Droid 2 is already supported with better Flash software, it can run the multi touch more fluently than Incredible.

For connectivity, there is no doubt. You can rely on their dual-band (800/1900 MHz) radios with 3G speeds. They also support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. However, you can share your 3G speed to the other devices via Wi-Fi of Droid 2.

While playing the music file you will see the different of the visualization. HTC incredible is able to move one song to the other with just swiping left/right on the album cover. However, Droid 2 offers its future users a better quality of sound with specific equalizer setting.

Combine with decent sized and high resolution displays attach on both Android phones, the users are allowed to watch a video encoded in MPEG-4.

Incredible won the battle of calling performance. There is no noise during a call using HTC Incredible’s earphone. Since Motorola Droid produces sharper tones, it is doing better while contact somebody with the speakerphone. However, echoing effect was heard a little bit while speakerphone becomes your choice to have a call through Motorola’s flagship.

There is no signal problem during benchmarking these two phones. No dropped call or any dropped signal during the benchmark. So, they are even in this case.

Motorola Droid 2 guarantees that you will never ran out of the juice for 9.5 hours of talk time after a full charge with its 1400 mAh battery. What is about the HTC Incredible’s battery? With its 1300mAH battery, the incredible is only promising a talk time of 5.5 hours of talk before requiring a recharge. Nevertheless, you still need to bring the charger if you are a heavy user.

So, the decision is yours. Which phone is going to be yours since they are tagged at the same price, $199.99 on-contract.

Maybe, since the Droid 2 offers the future customer its latest firmware from Google, Android 2.2  Froyo, support for Flash 10.1 and give you more option with its keyboard, you should choose Motorola Droid 2 as your phone.

However, HTC Incredible is still a good phone though. It will get the firmware upgrade to Android 2.2 Froyo soon.
