iphone 3gs tips tricks

If you are running iOS 4 on your iPhone 3G and it was not as snappy as you expected to be, stop using it. iOS 4 is designated for iPhone 4 that has better processor and RAM, but if you persistently want this OS on your iPhone 3G/3GS these steps could be a way around it.

- Hard reset your iPhone 3G
By doing hard reset it clear out the busyness ever engaged off your phone, in this case do it twice. These are the steps to do it:
1.press and hold home button and sleep/wake button until the phone shuts off and restart.
2.Let go the buttons when the Apple silver logo appears. Now your phone had been hard reset.

- Disable the backgrounds
Backgrounds and shadow processing that give the icon looks better, sadly takes some amount of memory usage. It makes the iPhone rather slow. Disable it by following these steps:

1) SSH in as root and install ericas utilities
2) Go to System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app
3) Convert the plist we need from binary to xml so you can edit it in a text editor:
plutil -convert xml1 N82AP.plist
4) Edit N82AP.plist file, and change this line:
<key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>
<true/>

android battery tips

We know that Android phones have many top features. And it requires more power. In result, the Android contributes to a phone short battery life. Some users are good to go with this issue as they need to recharge their device every time, but some people are frustrated by it.

We found some ways to disable some of Android features to save battery life. Some might argue that this method makes Android crippled but some might also find this helpful.

Here they are 14 tips to save your Android device’s battery (We are using HTC Desire as sample)

1.Disable Always-On Mobile Data
This always-on option is default, but you can do disable it from Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Enable-disable always-on mobile data as it will decrease the battery use.

2.Turn off Wireless Network Positioning
You can change this option from Settings > Location > Use wireless networks. Using GPS surely will drain your battery; use it only when you need it badly instead you use Assisted GPS.

3.Always Keep Bluetooth off When Not in Use
You can disable it from Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth. Bluetooth is obviously draining your battery if you keep it on all the time.

Main differences
- Operating system: Android 2.1 Eclair is running on the Samsung Galaxy S aka Captivate covered by TouchWiz 3.0 that is the Samsung user interface. This dynamic duo makes the Captivate is highly customizable in user interface as well as features. However iPhone 4 offers simpler UI many people like through its new operation system the iOS 4.

iOS 4 also offering the new multitasking ability, though compared to the one in Android the iOS 4 somehow crippled.
