xperia x10

Xperia X10 aka Rachael seems to be the Sony Ericsson masterpiece for the upper segment. The company has also worked in midrange phone behinds the closed door. Rachael looks good and we hope for the more better and polished User Interface and stable performance in the final unit. We shall wait to see it in February.

The short review about Rachael has been posted on gsmarena.com. Just see below for a short look.

X10 has the customized UI of Android 1.6 (codename Donut). Sad to know that there is no plan to upgrade to Android 2.0. The other nasty thing is that the OS doesn’t feature multi touch gesture like pinch zooming in gallery and browser. However X10 has offered the impressive new UI on its Android OS.

Timescape

This app or widget offers all you communication together by just simply tapping the Timescape widget on home screen. It will show you the aggregate view of your SMS, MMS, email, missed calls, Facebook updates and Twitter updates. For previewing the content you have to long press the tile.

Mediascape

Mediascape has also offered you all your media together like photos, video and music. The dedicated homescreen is divided into two, online and local.

Face Recognition

The automatic face recognition will recognize up to 5 faces in any picture. You can name each face and it will go ahead and you can meet it in your gallery in all appearance. It also allows you to text or call that person by tapping on the face.

First time to see Sony-ericcson all “balls-deep” on a new smartphone in particular an android phone. We agree, that Xperia has a bitter history on older models. Hopefully, this X10 release will turned out to be a happy-ending. But still, this phone has a far way to go on competing the iPhone kind or the Killer-Droid
