On a SE event in Taiwan, Vice President Marketing of Sony Ericsson, Peter Ang, said that the company will use Android 2.0 as their first Android phone operating system in near future. Further more, he said also that the new Android smartphone will feature Sony Ericsson User Interface. As we know that even actually Android 1.5 currently is not yet available to us.
Near future maybe means that the phone will be released before the end of this year. Besides there is another info that the company will continue their work to release Symbian and Windows Mobile based smartphones. The SE product that uses Symbian is Idou with its 12 Mpx camera and then the upcoming Xperia X2 perhaps will use Windows Mobile 6.5 as its Operating System.
