Sony Reports its Fiscal Year Loss
Sony for the first time reports its fiscal year loss that reaches $1 billion or ¥8.9. This fiscal year ends in March 2009. In the previous report that ends in March 2008, Sony had gained ¥369.4 billion profit. Overall sales decrease 12.9% with the details: US sales drops to 20%, European 17% and Japanese 14%.
At least there is a good news from Sony in relation with PSP sales that increase from 13.8 million to 14.1 million for PSP sales. As for the PS3 sales, they increase 10% YoY. But there is still a lag when comparing Microsoft and Nintendo gaming products with those of Sony.
