All of those James Bond wannabe out there must be thrilled by this breakthrough from Sony Ericsson. The Swedish-Japanese manufacturer will bring us one step closer to the famous character by patenting embedded radar technology into handsets. The combination of the radar technology, inbuilt GPS system and sophisticated camera will give us the capability of finding a target, click its high resolution image and even determine it velocity and other details.

Too bad it doesn’t have a rocket launcher or a synchronised powerful laser beam to complete the ‘seek and destroy’ mission for Bond. Probably, this one is just for locating and clicking pictures of potential Bond girls!

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in their obligatory round of FCC testing has confirmed the existence of the long-rumored “BeiBei”, the former codename for the G702 (the specific example submitted here appears to be a G702c variant).

The Symbian-equipped powerhouse comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera and Memory Stick Micro (M2) card slot for extra memory. The candybar handset features a touchscreen (a la the G700 and G900) display with a stylus in addition to a roller bar for navigation.

Up until now, we all agree that the most discussed and awaited phone from the Sony Ericsson is the recently announced XPERIA branded smartphone Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. The X1 comes with an un-doubtful image as the high-end smartphone and provide almost everything we are looking for in a phone.

So now we have a new class of the Sony Ericsson phones. It’s the XPERIA class. Sony Ericsson promises that all XPERIA branded handsets will be high-end smartphones and the X1 is only the beginning.
