Talks about gaming phones, we have to mention Nokia N-Gage. Nokia launched its gaming phone N-Gage some years ago. You are probably aware that it wasn’t a big success and for a while it looked that Nokia will bury the whole thing but then they got a new fascinating idea. Why don’t we turn the N-Gage into a gaming platform and put it into some of our phones? Well, it happened and now Nokia has few Nseries handsets that can run N-Gage applications/games.
In the past few year we have hear several rumors about the PSP phone. We have even hear some answers from Sony and Sony Ericsson but the situation is at least confusing, because no one is giving us a simple yes or no answer. Now it’s Nokia’s time to state its opinion about the long rumored PSP phone. So, What did they actually say? The head of games at Nokia, Jaakko Kaidesoja said that they aren’t scared about anybody and that he is doubtful how Sony Ericsson will do the PSP phone. The real question is how do they [Sony Ericsson] do it? Can they create a link between the PSP games and a phone? Can they do the multiplayer and online stuff? We’ve been doing this for two years and it hasn’t been easy.
Meanwhile, Nokia is preparing to commercially release the new N-Gage application for its N82 and N95 handsets, adding to the N81, while Kaidesoja says that making N-Gage games touchscreen-compatible is also on the agenda.
