That’s what the company announces today. The marketing manager, Dee Dutta will officially leave the company on 31st March 2008. Dutta has a lot of contribution in Sony Ericsson’s marketing strategy and he also played an important role in the company by building a solid marketing organization throughout the company. Dutta joined Sony Ericsson in 2002, and in 2003 he became the marketing manager. Under his leadership, Sony Ericsson’s brand has become the No 2 in Brand Purchase Consideration. Moreover, through the sponsorship of tennis, particularly the Women’s Tennis Association Tour, he has extended the reach of the Sony Ericsson brand across the world.

-Dee has made an outstanding contribution to the growth of the Sony Ericsson brand and our sponsorship in tennis. We would like to wish him the very best for the future, comments Dick Komiyama, CEO at Sony Ericsson, on Dee’s departure with Sony Ericsson.

Although Dee is leaving, it seems he has been very satisfied working at Sony Ericsson for the last 5-6 years.
This has been a wonderful journey of both personal and professional growth for me. I am very proud of the achievements that my team and I have made in growing the brand and look forward to the next challenge in my career, said Dee Dutta.
Sony Ericsson will announce Dee’s replacement in due course.

According to sources at the companies and in the Taiwan handset industry, after the recent Sony Ericsson’s announcement of their prediction of sales on the first quarter of 2008, suppliers for Sony Ericsson in Taiwan said that their shipments will be affected significantly. Some of the suppliers are Merry Electronics (headsets) and Silitech Technology (keypads and cases).

Sony Ericsson said last week in a press release that moderating sales growth of mobile phone units is expected to negatively impact net sales and net income before tax (“NIBT”) for the first quarter of 2008. Slowing market growth of mid-to-high-end phones in markets where Sony Ericsson has a strong presence is affecting sales.

While declining to commend on Sony Ericsson’s announcement, Merry contended that its first-quarter performance will be lower than expected, with first-quarter revenues to slide 8-12% sequentially from the fourth quarter of 2007. Earlier the company had projected only a 5% on-quarter decline.

As we said earlier, the Sony Ericsson “Emelie” is apparently a mid-range clamshell with 2 mega pixel camera and looks very similar to the K530. Our friend at Se-nse said that this new device will have a metal clad, which will give the device a sleek look. In addition, there are 18 curvy and sparkling keys on the inside of the flip. The navigation pad is unique, with separate directional keys and a orange-lit center joystick – definitely an interesting design

And, as a mid-ranger, don’t expect much more than the 240 x 320 pixel QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera (no auto-focus), and a smattering of Bluetooth and GSM radio frequency band support. We’re looking for the Sony Ericsson Emelie to hit a 150-200 Euro price point (about $231-$308 USD). CTIA looks to be the place to look for more on the Sony Ericsson Emelie.

Its advanced digital camera features such as Photo fix can improves light balance automatically in one click to make your picture as good as it can get.
