I can’t understand why Japan always get better Sony Ericsson phones, and it only available in Japan! Now SE did it again by preparing to release two new handsets, Sony Ericsson W61S and W62S. Those handsets will be launched on the KDDI network.

The W61S is Cyber-Shot branded, which means phone supports more powerful camera abilities. Device will be equipped with 5.1 MegaPixel (Exmor CMOS sensor up to ISO1600) camera, with Auto Focus support, LED flash and lens cover. It’s also will be equipped with 2.8 inch WVGA screen with 480×864 (262k color) resolution, will be support CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev.A. and MicroSD memory format. The form-factor of the W61S will be slider with dimensions of the 50×114×23 mm. and W62S will be clamshell.

Look at the specs, WVGA Screen, EV-DO, and new CMOS censor! Whoaa!

While the Sony Ericsson Z660 not released yet, TV Commercials of Sony Ericsson Z660 have already hit the Internet. As you can see in the video, Sony Ericsson will be equipped with quite a big display and it seems there is going to be a GPS receiver too (Hope so)…

USEB has reported an important updates for long rumored P51 (codename: Paris)

As USEB wrote, the P5i will equipped with sliding keyboard and different home screens you can navigate between by pressing left and right. Also, we’ve got a sliding mechanism on the back of the phone as a lens protector for the camera. “5 MP” is also stated on the back near the camera. It comes with a stylus even though the user interface can easily be used with your finger as well. It’s black and a bit smaller than P1. It has a built-in GPS (NaviLink 5.0 NL5350) with WayFinder 7.0 built-in as well as a weather application and the new Opera Mobile 9 with intelligent zoom and widgets. Based on OMAP34xx hardware platform.

Yesterday Sony Ericsson announced deals with 10 major record labels: Sony BMG, Warner Music Group, EMI, The Orchard, IODA, The PocketGroup, Hungama, X5 Music, Bonnier Amigo and VidZone, adding over 5 million new tracks to its extensive catalog. Sony Ericsson is currently negotiating further deals with a host of regional labels to further broaden the variety of music available and bring a wealth of localised content direct to the consumer. Sony Ericsson also unveiled the design and URL for PlayNow arena and launched PlayNow Uncut, (formerly M-Buzz) a music promotional space for new, unsigned and developing artists.

With great sales in 2007, Sony Ericsson need to increase their productions capacity to meets high demand in 2008. SEpassion reported that Sony Ericsson will increase manufacturing capacity in India. Of the four phones – T270, T280, R300 and R306 – two phones will be manufactured in India. The R300 and R306 will join the ranks of phones like the J110, J120, J121 and W200i that are already being manufactured in the country. While not revealing the current production capacity, Sudhin Mathur, GM, India operations, said that production capacity will be doubled in 2008 and will exceed 10 million phones by 2009. It will also ramp up the number of Sony Ericsson exclusive experience stores from 58 to 300 by the year 2009.

More colors mean more money, and SE know it much. After releasing new colors for Sony Ericsson K770i, now SE K850i will get the same treatment with Quicksilver Black. I have post early info here. Nothing changing in the specs here, just the housing, but we’ll take what we can get when it comes to handsets in the US 3G spectrum. No word on pricing or availability, we’ll just have to wait until when — or if — they announce it.
